<aside> 🏗️ Pitch Deck

Context: Sidewalk Labs is an urban planning and infrastructure subsidiary of Google. Its stated goal is to improve urban infrastructure through technological solutions, and tackle issues such as cost of living, efficient transportation and energy usage.

Problem: Despite plans to make electricity more affordable, a significant amount of the advanced grid still relies on Toronto’s. This leads to unnecessary costs.

Recommendation: Through leveraging micro-hydro power, an unconventional yet highly effective means of renewable electricity creation, we propose generating large amounts of energy efficiently at a low cost.

Impact: We propose the use of 20 water turbines, which, in our sample payment model, could reduce $658.50 in monthly utilities for a sample user.

Outcomes: Was invited to discuss our solution further with the company’s sustainability team.

Kidogo [Spring 2020] - Project Manager

<aside> 👶🏽 Pitch Deck

Context: Kidogo is a social enterprise that improves access to quality, affordable Early Childhood Care & Education in East Africa's low income communities.

Problem: Mamapreneurs can’t generate enough income with a realistic amount of kids. Consequently, there’s no financial value proposition for the position. Additionally, kids globally without access to Kidogo centres can’t reap the advantages of The Kidogo Way and play-based learning.

Opportunity: The global educational toys market size is projected to reach $34.2b USD in 2024. We see an opportunity to leverage Kidogo’s play-based learning style to seize the market and generate widespread income for Mamapreneurs. This extra revenue stream would support Mamas across East Africa and make their position financially viable.

Impact: We recommend capitalizing on the market gap and distributing The Kidogo Way for children globally; in the form of an educational toy. Our solution could improve Kidogo’s international brand image and enhance ECD for kids everywhere, while increasing Mamapreneur monthly income by %.

Outcomes: Was shortlisted amongst dozens of other teams as a solution actively being considered by the CEO.

Context: Oxford Properties is a Canadian multinational corporation, with operations in real estate investment, development and property management. Its portfolio includes office, retail, industrial, multi-residential, life sciences and hotel assets. $80B AUM.

Impact: OXSU units make 225% more profit per month than Oxford leases. This could make $113M more profit annually than the status quo.

Outcomes: Presented to Oxford Properties’s board of directors.

XPRIZE [Spring 2021] - Project Manager

<aside> 🌍 Pitch Deck

Context: XPRIZE is a non-profit organization that designs and hosts public competitions intended to encourage technological development to benefit humanity.

Problem: For their Elon-backed Carbon Removal challenge, XPRIZE wants 1000 high-quality submissions, but high-potential people who could submit high-quality solutions to the challenge aren't applying. Specifically, scientists and engineers established in climate research aren’t attracted to XPRIZE’s Carbon Removal challenge because of a lack of early-stage financial sustenance and research incentive misalignment.

Solution: Conditional early-stage funding for climate researchers screened to be of high-potential. A $5M fund to provide need-based financial support to 50 teams of climate researchers that pass a screening process throughout the first 18 months of the challenge is recommended. This would allow them to partake and succeed in the challenge without the obstacle of inadequate funding. If progress milestones aren’t met within this timeframe, provided funding will be paid back in full.

Impact: 50 high-quality challenge submissions in the United States alone could be directly unlocked by implementing this pilot-phase solution within 3 months. Through identifying and financially supporting high-potential climate researchers already making progress in carbon capture, they’d be attracted to participating in the XPRIZE and thus raising the challenge’s quality of submissions.

Outcomes: Presented to XPRIZE CEO.
